This is the first version of our A6 color flyer. If you can print some copies off for us and bring them to camp or distribute them for us, we will be very grateful.

Our forum has now been updated with recent media links, the forum thread has also been moved into the correct Occupy Leeds sub category after it was setup by mistake in the general section.
We will be having a general assembly at the city square location on the 11th of November from 12:30. There is a Facebook event page already published for this, so please sign up and get involved. The Agenda is still in progress, but will be published as it develops. A discussion thread in the forum has been setup for this event, where you can make suggestions, etc.
After a barrage of questions, and criticisms on Facebook and other media from curios individuals and opponents who are generalising about what Occupy Leeds represent, and the wider Occupy Movement I have decided to release a small statement, based on a reply I made today on our Facebook Community page.
Occupy Leeds are a separate yet connected movement within the Occupy Movement. Our supporters and volunteers have their own unique views and opinions. It is misguided to try to generalise our entire movement, or our entire camp (at this time still to be deployed), and is utterly ridiculous to do so based solely on what you may have seen on the main stream media about other Occupy Camps, which may have never been in contact with us.
The nature of how we have come together in my opinion makes it foolish to try to generalise our entire base of volunteers or support, or our group as a whole. We are simply individuals who have come together to support each other as we protest and seek positive change, whilst offering solidarity with those who are doing the same. We protest some common themes, but we are all individuals coming together to support each other.

Occupy Leeds are now reachable via Skype under occupy.leeds. We need to set up a schedule so that the Skype account is online as much as possible. If anyone is interested in receiving calls or answer IM on Skype for us, please get in touch.
Thank you.
Attendance
The attendance at the meeting surpassed that expected by our event page on Facebook, with approximately 20 taking part, including 2 very welcomed supporters from Occupy Nottingham.
Key Discussion Points
Firstly, a really big thank you to everyone who got involved, offered support and or came to our planning meeting today. The turn out was much better than our FB event page had predicted, with approximately 20 of us in attendance.
The minuets of that meeting will be online sometime tomorrow. The main outcome of that meeting was an agreement to go ahead with our scheduled event on the 11th and to use that day as the starting point of our occupation of Leeds. A new event page on FB has now been created, which may end up replacing the previously listed event page, so I urge people to ensure they are signed up to both in the mean time to ensure you receive any updates about the event. Though, any updates should be broadcast both here and via Twitter.
We already have a thread on the forum to list what resources we can provide and what we require, so I ask that people contribute to that thread. We now also have a thread setup for discussions about the 11th occupation, please use this to discuss anything to do with that event, such as logistics, what’s going to happen on the day, how to advertise, flyers, etc.
Thanks again
We are still seeking our own logo, something that establishes us as being a separate and unique part of the movement but also symbolises our solidarity with the other protest movements throughout the world. We would therefore like to ask you to get involved in creating something for us. It will need to be usable on both printed and online media and be scaled to various sizes.
We would be happy to receive your suggestions in our forum.
This is an announcement to advertise the first assembly of Occupy Leeds.
There is a Facebook Event page already setup, which at the moment is the most up to date source of information on the event. Please take a look and let us know if you are able to attend. It will be a semi-formal meeting to discuss our upcoming “Occupation Event” which is currently scheduled for the 11th of November and to plan for the future of the group.
Hello everyone, welcome to Occupy Leeds!
This website has been setup to facilitate communication and information sharing from the Occupy Leeds Group. Originally organised as a Facebook Group, we hope the new website will make it eassier for us to educate, publicise and enhance our own contribution towards an evolving movement fighting for positive change.
